I installed a new SSD on my 2011 MacBook Pro. Everything is working great except my Office software which requires the product key. I do not have the packaging etc as the software came preinstalled. Where/how can I get a new product key? I tried to talk to Microsoft and the call center wanted to remote in to my computer...not really comfortable with that as I could not confirm that they really worked for Microsoft. I still have the old HD if that would help.

I tried this. The lady on the phone just kept telling me I needed the product key. I tried to explain that was exactly the problem I had...I no longer have the product key. Her answer was I needed to call Apple.......

I don't know who were were talking to but you did not get good advice. Call the activation number again. Last time I did it the auto activation process gave me a new product key without any problems. Maybe Microsoft

When we install Office 2019 on a Mac and activate it by signing in with the shared account it lists all licensed products but not the product keys, the list is all same like "Office Home & Business 2019" repeated 25 times. Macs run a little bit differently than regular PCs do. There can be some confusion if you are not fully familiar with how a Mac works. If you are attempting to activate Office 2019 for Mac, Office for business, Office 365 Admin, Office 365 Small Business, or another Office product.

Remove or uninstall trial or demo versions, or versions you installed with a license key before you download and install Office from UB. Installing over a trial or demo or a version licensed with a key prompts you for a product key for the UB version.
